‘I thought I was fat’: Christie Brinkley reveals it took years to find her confidence as she poses in a bodysuit at 59
Christie Brinkley has revealed she thought she was ‘fat’ during her early days as a model.
While she was admired around the globe for her dazzling good looks, it seems it took her years to find her confidence.
She told the new issue of Haute Living magazine: ‘I came across an older picture of me that someone had posted on Facebook and I totally remember squirming and feeling very fat while I was shooting it.
‘And I look at it now and think, I was actually really thin! How is it possible that I felt so uncomfortable in that body?’
Now approaching 60, the mother of three is still in incredible shape and put her leggy figure on show in the accompanying photo shoot.
She also spoke about how she has tried to instill her daughter Alexa Ray, 27, with plenty of self-worth.
Famous smile: Christie is just as dazzling as ever
She said: ‘Alexa is an outspoken person who has shown that she has substance. She will not be put in a box or labeled as anything, which is something that I always tried to pride myself on throughout my career.
Alexa, whose father is Billy Joel, is an aspiring singer.
‘I listen to her and Joni Mitchell whenever I paint or do my sculpture dolls,’ Christie says.
Christie, who has been married four times, also has two sons Jack, 18, and Sailor, 15.
