Marcell Sibley could spend up to five years in prison for animal cruelty.
Marcell Sibley admits that he “snapped and threw the dog off the balcony in the kennel because he was mad at the dog,” local police said.
It takes a cruel and despicable person to harm a small and defenseless animal, locals said.
“I think it takes a sick individual to mistreat a little animal. I don’t care if it’s a dog or cat or whatever,” resident Don Dugan told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Surveillance video from Allround Suites in Marietta, Ga., shows a man — believed to be Sibley — holding a small Yorkshire terrier by the neck and hitting the poor puppy.
The surveillance video shows a man slapping the helpless puppy.
Then the man tosses the dog in a crate onto the concrete below about 4:30 p.m. on June 27.
Afterward, police say, Sibley went downstairs to where his helpless pet landed, picked it up and tossed it into a dumpster.
Sibley heartlessly tossed his nearly dead puppy into a dumpster after, cops said.
A local resident found the dog barely alive a few minutes later and called the cops. The dog had broken bones and spinal injuries. It might not survive.
Sibley reportedly fled the area but multiple witnesses were around to describe the heinous act to police, the Journal-Constitution reported.

“I feel it’s the same difference as if it would be a little child, it’s something that can’t help itself,” said Dugan.
Sibley was arrested at his home in Smyrna, Ga. He made bond and got out of jail but could face one to five years in prison for felony cruelty to animals.
