When ya gotta go, ya gotta go. A thief, answering the call of nature, pulled a knife on a security guard at a Brooklyn supermarket when the worker tried to stop him from stealing toilet paper, police said.

The assailant loaded up on eight packages of 12-count Scott toilet tissue at 9:45 a.m. June 30 at the Fairway Market on Van Brunt Street in Red Hook, police said. The unknown robber tried to walk out of the store with the 96 rolls of TP when the security guard intervened, cops said.

The two started to tussle, at which point the suspect threatened the guard with a knife, cops said. The crook fled with his loot, police said. The assailant is described as 5-foot-7 and 165 pounds.

  1. Wrong. Not larceny. Once weapon is brandished, it is a robbery.
76 Detectives and 11th Division Robbery will now be on his trail. They’ll get him. 😉
Prison if convicted.., for toilet paper. Maybe next he will be stealing soap for the prison shower room?

  2. Thief is described as five foot seven about 165 pounds and smells like poop. I’m sure he’d be glad to return all the TP he used to the store as part of a plea agreement to avoid jail time. It isn’t like he stole the Pentagon papers, or Zig Zag rolling papers. Aside from the store owner, who really gives a s_ _t? It’s going to cost taxpayers much more than the cost of 96 rolls of TP to catch and punish this guy. Maybe the Judge could sentence him to 96 hours of community service, scrubbing out public restroom toilets. Let the punishment fit the crime.
