The card, made by Minneapolis-based MaeMae Paperie, took inspiration from the beloved bedtime book Goodnight Moon and featured Mila’s name in embossed gold.
After welcoming daughter Mila into the world in April, Mrs Bush Hager has relished her role as a proud new mom.
The 31-year-old recently revealed she couldn’t stop staring at her daughter’s ‘little, precious hands’ on The Novo Project.
Jenna says she is head-over-heels in love with little Mila. ‘I’ve learned that you can love somebody in a totally different way,’ she said. ‘I’m close to crying, of course, you know me. I’m totally crazy about her.’
She described her husband as ‘a really modern dad’, and the first time he read a story to their daughter also triggered her tears.
‘He was taking a conference call while holding the baby yesterday,’ she revealed. ‘But we’re just having so much fun. He read the first book to her that Don Nash gave us. I cried.’
The candid new mom also recently revealed that she was at her baby shower when her water broke three weeks early, and, twin sister Barbara revealed that she was present at the time.
‘I was with Jenna when Mila decided to arrive early,’ she said on the Today Show. ‘Which was very fun and funny and sort of traumatizing . . . but she is the sweetest and I’m very excited.’
As for the new mom herself, Mrs Bush Hager said it came as a complete shock.
‘I was having a baby shower that day, and I felt the baby move and everybody was staring at me cause it was one of those baby showers where you open gifts,’ she recalled.
‘I kind of started sweating, which is a normal thing. but then all of a sudden in front of all of my friends, my water broke.’
The mom had two baby showers, one that took place before she went on maternity leave, which featured on the Today Show and in People magazine, and a second private party after she stopped work, during which her water broke.
The first was organized by the Today show correspondent’s colleague, Hoda Kotb, which featured a gift table piled with dozens of her co-worker’s favorite childhood books – each inscribed with a piece of parenting advice.
Goodnight Moon, given by news anchor Natalie Morales, was a favorite among the gifts.
‘I have read this book so many times, I have it committed to memory and committed to song, because I have to jazz it up – not just for my kids,’ explained Ms Morales.
