Local politician is arrested for ‘trying to sneak through a woman’s bedroom window wearing only his socks and underwear’

Sonoma County Supervisor Efren Carrillo, 32, was arrested in Santa Rosa on charges of prowling and burglary after a woman called police around 3:40 a.m. to report that someone had tried to break into her home, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
Police arrived on the scene and found Carrillo wearing only underwear and socks and carrying a cell phone.
He was booked into Sonoma County jail and released on a $40,000 bail at noon on Saturday.
He said in an e-mail to the Chronicle that he had been drinking on Friday.
‘I realize that my behavior was embarrassing,’ he wrote. ‘It involved alcohol and I’m taking immediate steps to seek professional help.’
The woman whose house Carrillo had tried to enter told police that she awoke to the sound of her bedroom window blinds rustling and thought someone was trying to break in.
While police were en route to the scene, someone knocked on the woman’s door, said he was a neighbor and then fled.
She told a detective she had spoken to Carrillo in the past but barely knew him.
Investigators later discovered that the screen to her bedroom window had been ripped open.
His case was later dismissed because of conflicting accounts of what had transpired outside the nightclub.
Carrillo is unmarried and he has been in office since 2008.
