There were some very famous faces in the crowd at Beyonce’s concert last night as Michelle Obama and her daughters danced along in a private box.
Their attendance wasn’t a surprise as The Chicago Sun-Times revealed their plans last week.
Extra security was seen sweeping Chicago’s United Center throughout the week in anticipation of the important guests.
The Obamas kept a relatively low profile, though the concert-goers in the rows surrounding their box were quick to spot them.
One Twitter user, who goes by the handle @YoungCollegiate, said that he spoke briefly to Malia, 15.
He said that she ‘was real nice’ but said ‘sorry, I’m not allowed to take any pictures’.

Instead he sneaked a selfie with the first daughter in the background, wearing a white scoop-neck shirt and denim-looking skirt.
He also tried to take a picture of the First Lady alongside Gayle King but she was ‘moving around too much’.
Before the concert, the Obamas and about 20 friends went to dinner at Carmichael’s Chicago Steak House and they dined in a private room.
‘They were wearing little makeup and were chatting about getting ready for the Beyonce concert that night,’ a source at the restaurant told E! News.
This was not the First Family’s first time attending a Beyonce concert, as Michelle and the girls went to her show in Atlantic City last year.
Mrs Obama and Beyonce have had a very public show of mutual admiration over the course of Mr Obama’s presidency, as the singer wrote an open letter praising the First Lady in April 2012 and the Obamas returned the favor.
‘Beyoncé could not be a better role model for my girls,’ the President said while thanking guests at a fundraiser that Beyonce and her husband Jay Z held for his re-election campaign.
Beyonce has also helped Mrs Obama’s ‘Let’s Move’ initiative by penning a song for their program.
‘Gosh, if I had some gift, I’d be Beyoncé. I’d be some great singer,’ Mrs Obama previously told People Magazine.
While the concert may have been a fun night out, it wasn’t the formal reason for the First Lady’s visit to their hometown.
She joined Chicago’s Mayor Rahm Emanuel, who was her husband’s first Chief of Staff, at an education and employment program event for area high school students on Thursday.
‘I am thrilled to be here. I mean, in addition to giving me an excuse to come home and sleep in my own bed, it’s really a treat for me to spend time with you guys,’ she said in her opening remarks.
