Teenage boy ‘beaten so badly by his hammer wielding mother’ that he couldn’t walk and found so malnourished he resembled an 8-year-old

An Oklahoma City mother has been accused of using a hammer to beat her teenage son so hard that he was unable to walk.
Neighbors found the 14-year-old boy crawling on his hands and knees outside their home.
He said he was ‘too scared’ to go home and asked to take refuge in the neighbors’ residence.
The Good Samaritans noticed his injuries, along with other bruising on his body.
They called police after carrying him back to his home.
Although 14 years old, police said the boy was also badly malnourished.
This meant the teenager was around the size and weight of an eight- or nine-year-old.
While being treated for his injuries he told officers his mother Elizabeth Alberty beat him with a hammer.
The teen said Alberty, 59, kept the hammer by her bed, as reported by Newson6.com.
When officers arrived at Alberty’s home in Oklahoma City she first gave a false name and then claimed her son had run away.
After police revealed that her son was at the hospital, Alberty claimed he had been injured when she dropped a copying machine on his feet earlier in the week.
Elizabeth Alberty was arrested on one count of a caretaker engaging in child abuse or neglect. She remains in jail after failing to raise the $10,000 bond.
