Heartbreak for mother as she finds her 19-year-old actress daughter strangled in bed the morning after a cast party

Police in Hartford, Wisconsin, have said that their investigation into the mysterious death of a 19-year-old woman has now turned into murder case.

Court documents filed on Tuesday reveal that Jessie M. Blodgett had strangulation marks on her neck when her body was discovered in her bedroom at home on July 15th by her mother.

The night before the young actress had just wrapped up a performance of the Fiddler on the Roof and attended a cast party on the Sunday evening from which she returned at around 1 a.m. on Monday morning.

Her mother told police that she remembers her daughter returning in the early hours and in the morning went into her room to return some washing at 8 a.m.

When she returned home at around midday she checked on her daughter and found her to be dead.

 No cord, wire, rope or other material that might have caused the mark was found in the room or residence.

However, as a result of the investigation, police have interviewed a 46-year-old man who was seen at the party with Blodgett.

The man has allegedly told police that he was seated next to Blodgett at the wrap-party and admitted pulling her onto his lap.

He old an officer in Hartford that ‘his girlfriend would be upset if she knew about his behavior with a 19-year-old girl.’

The police have filed a series of search warrants to obtain cell phone records from Blodgett, her parents and the 46-year-old man.

The Washington County medical examiners office said on Tuesday that it officially has not ruled on the cause of death and is waiting for toxicology results which could take weeks.

‘It’s shocking. It’s unsettling. It certainly rattles the emotions of everyone who knew her. We just miss her so much, and we’re sad to lose her. No one ever expects a 19-year-old just to suddenly be gone,’ Jerry Becker, Blodgett’s theater director said to Fox6Now.
