There’s still some debate about whether America’s shale oil boom is  merely an overnight sensation or a true-blue gamechanger — we’ve featured both sides here.

In a new study published by Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, former oil company executive Leonardo Maugeri predicts that for America’s three largest shale oil plays — the Bakken in North Dakota and the Eagle Ford and Permian Basin in Texas — the boom should last at least another decade.

OBAMA TO PROMOTE $2 BILLION ON ENERGY RESEARCH BUT BLOCKS OIL LEASING ON FEDERAL LAND

While Obama is taking credit for the increase oil and gas production happening right now due to fracking, the fact is  production of oil and gas in federal land dropped  from 2007-2012.

Obama today promotes $2 billion energy researh funding for the next ten years but since 43% of all domestic crude reserves and 28% of gas reserves are on federal land, Obama has to open up and increase leasing these lands in order to increase energy production. Obama also ignored the judge order to lift the moratorium he placed on the Gulf coast shutting down 85% of America‘s offshore areas for energy production.

Fedex is planning to switch to natural gas, Waste Management has 1,000 trucks running on natural gas, Chinese firm is building 50 gas stations. Natural gas is here and it happened because the private energy companies made it happen and not because the federal government was pushing for it – just like the blocking they did on Keystone XL pipeline.

America has vast reserves of oil and gas that need to be unleashed and produced. There’s a glut already in the natural gas production which can only be relieved once the private sectorcan find a way to export it like Asia, wherein gas is 300% more expensive compared to America. America’s future prosperity is going to be because of oil. If  Obama will block the energy boom in America, he is blocking the future prosperity of this country.

WHILE AMERICA HAS FRACKING, JAPAN HAS REVOLUTIONARY UNDERWATER FLAMMABLE ICE BREAKTHROUGH

While America is surrounded by untapped huge deposits of gas and oil both in land and water, Japan is a country with no natural resources and has to import 100% of its oil. But today, Japan became the first country to succesfully able to extract underwater natural gas from flammable ice, a frozen gas from underwater deposits of methane hydrate. Using the technique of depressurization, frozen gas is converted into natural gas. Although still in its infant stage, Japan hopes to perfect the technique and make it commercially viable by 2019.  Japan is estimated to contain 7 trillion cubic meters of  flammable ice and believe to supply the country decades of natural gas.

In 1941, FDR ordered an oil and steel embargo on Japan after Japan invaded the France-occupied Indochina. Since US supplied 80% of Japan’s oil, in order for its empire to survive Japan seized the oil fields in Indonesia but was crushed and moved out by the American fleet sent by FDR.
