Another milestone in the history of Google Glass was made Thursday when Dr. Rafael Grossmann used the device to record a surgery he was performing. Grossmann, who is in the Google Explorer program and one of the few to already have glass, wrote about the surgery on his personal blog.
He believed that the platform had great potential for use in healthcare, specifically surgery where it could allow for better intra-operative consultations, mentoring, and education.

Google co-founder and current CEO Larry Page has finally posted on his Google + Page that he has been suffering from vocal cord paralysis, explaining his many months of avoiding public speaking engagements. Page said he is capable of continuing his job but finds public speaking as “tedious” due to his softer voice. Page shared his problem started when he suffered a bad cold 14 years ago that led to paralysis of his left vocal cord. After contracting a voice problem last summer, his second vocal cord has now limited movement also.
Common symptoms are vocal fatigue and discomfort, hoarseness and chronic cough due to aspiration or food/liquids going down the trachea or windpipe. In severe cases, patients would experience difficulty breathing which may then require surgical procedures like medialization laryngoplasty, a laryngoplasty implant or laryngoplasty injection using purified fats. In a more severe cases, a combination of arytenoid adduction ( implant ) and medialization laryngoplasty ( mechanical repositioning of vocal cord towards the center ) is recommended to avoid high risk of aspiration.

According to AP report, Google Chairman Eric Schmidt is in the process of selling up 3.2 million shares of Goggle stock this year. That’s half of the 6.9 million shares he owns as of April 8 of this year. Schmidt owned 7.6 million shares at the end of last year. He still owns $5.6 billion worth based on the $813.45 closing price of Google’s stock yesterday. The 57-year-old Schmidt was Google’s CEO for ten years before turning over the job to Larry page in 2011. He was also given a role as economic adviser to Obama administration and Britain. This week British MP disliked his defense of not paying enough fair share of taxes to UK government and threatened of being stripped of his adviser role.
A February 21 Motley Fool article by Suman Chatterjee showed a transaction summary of Google c0-founder Sergey Brin actively divesting his shares at a steady rate. The writer of the article was asking if it’s time to follow Schmidt and Sergey Brin and start selling Google shares. But Google is still rising and next year they are going to mass produce their Google glass. Google is showing a biting-my-nail anxiety behavior which makes anyone wonder if the Google lords are becoming less confident of the future their own product or is this just a temporary show of anxiety from them.

In a BBC interview, Google boss Eric Schmidt defended his company’s practice of using tax loopholes to pay less taxes claiming the company’s total contribution to UK’s overall economy is more important than the tax it paid to the government. In 2011, Google only paid 6 million pounds in taxes out the 6 billion pounds of revenue generated in UK.
Schmidt claims it invested “literally billions of pounds of start-ups” and citing the “electronic commerce expansion in Britain… is driving a lot of economic growth.” The Google CEO pointed out that they are not breaking any law and will comply with the law still should the law changes. He added the fact that their British employees pay British taxes driving a lot of GDP.
The Members of Parliament are not happy with Schmidt that they condemned his interview and are now calling for his role as government adviser to be revoked. An MP from Dover commented, “The key point for corporation tax is that businesses that make profit in the UK pay a fair share of that in tax. Mr. Schmidt says Britain has been a good market for his company, why has it paid such a little tax.”

Google will start distributing this week in US the Google Glass device to 8,000 chosen by contest elected owners. It will be mass-produced in 2014 and hopes to lower its current price of $1,500 by next year.
The selected owners can only get one pair of GG, has to register the glass to their Google account and has to open and maintain Google Wallet account to activate and receive continued Google service. Part of the policy in purchasing the device is the no-reselling policy. Owners are forbidden to resell it but they can give it as a gift with the same attached policy for the gift recipients as the device owners.
Google says to “sell, loan, transfer or give device to others” without permission from Google will lead to deactivation of the device without “refund, product support or warranty.” The “wearable internet” will be fully tested next year whether the mass consumer will take a bite on this latest gadget. Google, Apple and others are working on “Internet-connected wristwatches.”
With too many latest gadgets out there, making everything obsolete one year after purchase, it’s possible people may soon experience “gadget-fatigue-syndrome”. Instead of buying the latest gadget out there and throwing away what they bought six months ago just because there’s a new “thing” out there, people may soon out of fatigue settle and keep what they already have if the new “thing” has really nothing “crucial” to offer.

Professor John Chuang and computer science student Charles Wang of UC Berkley School of Information conducted experiments on study participants to authenticate individuals by recognizing their brainwaves through the use of use Neurosky Mindset, a $199 headset that reads the brainwaves while connected to the computer using Bluetooth technology.
Instead of typing your password, you will be using what researchers call as “pass-thoughts” . The sensors will “register” your EEG ( electroencephalogram ) or brainwave measurements and the computer will recognize or authenticate your brainwaves allowing you access to your account.
EEG is the reading of fluctuating electrical activities along the scalp and the Silicon Valley based company NeuroSky , manufacturer of Brain-Computer Interface ( BCI ) technologies, is using their inexpensive dry sensors EEG technology to bring to the consumers the affordable Neurosky Mind Set, the first BCI consumer product that’s less than $1,000.This kind of brain-wave authentication can be the latest answer to password-security concerns of Google and Microsoft and by going this route can greatly improve improve their password-security systems.

The ladies behind tech giants Microsoft, Google and Facebook were able to snag the billionaires back when they were ordinary men pursuing their dreams. One thing you would notice, Bill Gates, Sergey Brin and Mark Zuckerberg didn’t go for models and celebrities when they were looking for a spouse. They instead chose the woman who were there with them from the very beginning, long before the billions and celebrity status arrived. Here are short stories on how they met their wives.
1. BILL GATES AND MELINDA FRENCH
In 1987, four months after Melinda French worked at Microsoft, she first met Bill Gates at a New York Expo Trade-Fair dinner while sitting next to him. She found him funny she said. Months later they met again in Microsoft’s parking lot and Bill this time asked her to go out with him “in two weeks from this coming Saturday”. Melissa told him instead to call her when closer to the date and that night, Bill called and asked her out. Since he had a meeting that finished very late that night and not sure what restaurants were still open, he decided they stay at his house and talk and that was their first date. And on January 1, 1994 they got married in Hawaii and they now have two children. Today they are busy with their Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
2. SERGEY BRIN AND ANN WOJCICKI
Google co-founder Sergey Brin was the most eligible bachelor in the world until he married Ann Wojcicki in 2007. Ann is a biotech analyst and cofounder of biotech company 23&Me. They had a wedding in Bahamas attended by close friends and families wherein the bride wore a white swimsuit ( the dream wedding attire she told her mother) and the groom wore a black one. Ann and Sergey met when Sergey and Larry Page were renting the garage of Ann’s elder sister Susan during the founding years of the search engine giant Google.
3. MARK ZUCKERBERG AND PRISCILLA CHAN
Well, the movie Social Network practically told the story on how they met. Pricilla and Mark met at a Jewish frat party Alpha Epsilon Pi at Harvard while they were both standing in line for the bathroom. The Chinese-American noticed Mark for his “nerdy” look. They got married in 2012. She is a graduate of medical school and inspired him to launch the organ donor program of Facebook.
Melinda Gates, Ann Wojcicki, Priscilla Chan: three lucky women chosen by the three tech giant owners of the 21st century. But Bill Gates, Sergey Brin and Mark Zuckerberg are more lucky because these women not only remained down-to-earth despite of being first ladies of the tech world. They made them better people than ever, taking them beyond their empire, bringing out the best in them by getting them involve in touching lives and making the world a better place.

Women find humor irresistible, so guys if you can make a woman laugh, you could win her in a laugh beat. My husband was a verrrry serious man and I taught him how to see the lighter, funnier side of the world. In a relationship, humor is a must…not for serious matters because that’s why they are called serious, they need serious treatment but things that should not be too seriously.
Here are 10 funny pick up lines! Steal a woman’s heart by making her laugh:
1. Aren’t you tired already? Because you’ve been running in my mind all night long.
2. Am I a bad shooter? Because I keep on missing you.
3. Hi! Are you google? Because you got everything that I’ve been looking for.
4. You must be a thief because you stole my heart.
5. Are you a dictionary? Because you add meaning to my life.
6. Oooops! I think I lost my number. Can I have yours?
7. Sorry, I forgot your name. Can I call you mine?
8. Hi! You got raisins? No? Well, how about a date?
9. Life without you is like a broken pencil….pointless!
10. I only want to be with you twice….now and forever.
Have fun with my corny jokes 🙂 Sometimes the way to a woman’s heart is not through brawns or brain but humor.
