A 25-year-old Oklahoma City man is facing a slew of domestic abuse charges after he admitted to beating and repeatedly cheating on his girlfriend on the Dr. Phil talk show.

Timothy Cruz has been charged with seven counts of punching, kicking and attempting to strangle Brittany Roberts, the mother of their 6-month-old daughter, between 2011 and 2013.

Cruz and Roberts appeared on the popular syndicated program, which originally aired in May, where the 25-year-old man told host Dr. Phil McGraw that he had choked his girlfriend while holding their baby daughter.

During the episode titled ‘Broken Bones, Broken Hearts and Broken Engagements?’ which was broadcast again Monday, Miss Roberts described her boyfriend as ‘evil, abusive’ and a ‘ticking time bomb,’ adding that at times she feared that he could kill her.

Yet, the woman said in the emotional interview she still considered marring Cruz if he could change his way.

During a later phone conversation between the couple, which was recorded by police, Mr Cruz apologized to the mother of his daughter for abusing and choking her, The Oklahomanreported.

When Roberts asked Cruz if he was being honest on the show, the 25-year-old replied: ‘Yes…everything I said on the show was absolutely 100 per cent, I mean honest to God true,’ according to a probable cause affidavit.

The Department of Human Services took Cruz and Robert’s child into protective custody in November 2012.

The Dr Phil show that focused on the rocky relationship of the Oklahoma City couple detailed the abuse that Miss Roberts had endured at the hands of Cruz beginning in March 2011.

Sitting in the TV studio opposite the 25-year-old man, with McGraw in the middle, the woman said that Cruz has an explosive temper and is set off by the smallest thing, prompting him to yell, spit and turn to violence.

Cruz was upfront about his inability to control his rage, as well as about his abusive behavior toward his girlfriend.

‘I’ve punched Brittany in the face. I’ve kicked her. I’ve given her a concussion,’ he told Dr Phil and the studio audience.

He also admitted to choking her until her body went limp while holding their child ‘for leverage,’ but expressed concern that he could go so far as to kill Roberts because he is unable to control himself.

During one altercation, Tim Cruz described how he worked himself into such a state that he punched Brittany in the face, breaking her nose. He then forced the injured woman to get into a tub fully clothed because he was upset that she was bleeding all over the floor.

A photo taken of Roberts at the time showed the women’s swollen, distorted face with two black eyes.

During another argument, Brittany said that Cruz sat on her stomach while she was seven weeks pregnant, resulting in a miscarriage. Seven months into her second pregnancy, the 25-year-old allegedly dragged the expectant mother and banged her head on the floor.

Beside the violence, Brittany Roberts and had to contend with her boyfriend’s constant infidelity. In one case, she even tracked Cruz using his GPS and caught him having sex with his ex-girlfriend in a car.

In a bizarre twist, Roberts one day discovered dozens of Craigslist ads allegedly posted by her 25-year-old boyfriend soliciting sex from men.

Mr Cruz has not denied his numerous affairs and trysts, chalking up his chronic infidelity to his ‘strong sex drive’ and explaining that he has no emotional connection with his male and female partners.

Roberts said on the show that Cruz does not realize what he is doing and feels no remorse for his actions, instead blaming her for provoking him by being disrespectful.

Cruz, however, insisted that he feels disgusted with himself for creating ‘a living hell’ for his girlfriend. He added that he is extremely in love with the mother of his child, and that he believes ‘100 per cent that all the violence is over and done with.’
