Reuters first reported that the Department of Health and Human Services was tweaking the rules which require those seeking federal aid for insurance coverage to prove they actually need the help.
Under the law, those seeking subsidies are supposed to have incomes no higher than 400 percent of the federal poverty line. Further, they can’t have access to affordable insurance through their jobs. Continue reading

The National Football League appears to be bucking the Obama administration’s request to help promote the health care overhaul, as Republican lawmakers pressure all the major sports leagues not to get involved in the effort.
An NFL spokesman told The Washington Post overnight that the league has “no plans to engage in this area and (has) had no substantive contact with the administration” about the implementation. Continue reading
California school officials will use their part of a $37 million grant of taxpayer funds to teach school children how to promote Obamacare to their own families.
Los Angeles Unified School District, a district already in deep financial trouble, will use almost $1 million to meet its goal to trains teens “to be messengers to family members” about how to take advantage of taxpayer subsidized health care, known best as Obamacare. According to the Heartlander Magazine, spokeswoman Sarah Soto-Taylor of Covered California, the state’s branch of the federal program, said the staff doesn’t question the goal.
“We have confidence that the model LA Unified brought to the table will be successful in reaching our target population, which included family members of students.,” she said. Continue reading

A former NHS employee has described the hospital where her elderly father died as the worst she had encountered during her 30-year career. James Bollen, 92, died last week after contracting three illnesses during a four-week stay at Weston General Hospital in Somerset. The pensioner, whose family said he had always feared he would die on one of its wards, had been admitted to the hospital in Weston-super-Mare with norovirus.

Kathleen Sebelius, Health and Services Secretary, was busy soliciting money in behalf of Obamacare community-organizing group Enroll America. According to Reuters, Sebelius asked since March H&R block and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to fund the Obamacare registration program organized by Enroll America, a non-profit organization run by Obama’s former campaign backers and tapped to enroll Americans to Obamacare starting this coming October.
H&R Block said they have not made any commitment to Enroll America while the Johnson Foundation has given a total of $14 million already since 2010. Enroll America was launched in 2011 by leaders of Obamacare advocate Families USA. Its board of directors and advisers are the following:
Teva Pharmaceuticals USA, Blue Shield of California, Kaiser Permanente, CVS Caremark, American Hospital Association and The National Association of Health Underwriters.
Obama is not going to have problem raising money for Enroll America or for himself. He got Hollywood millionaires and billionaires to add to his fund raisers. He got Soros, Buffett, Bill Gates, Progressive insurance owner Lewis, Google and Facebook billionaires. His real problem is how to explain to the young and mostly clueless Americans that they have to enroll for Obamacare or else face penalty.

A CNN-Manta survey of small businesses revealed a not so good picture of the economy. Although more than a third believe they are better compared to last year, only 40% of the polled are reporting strong sales while only 14% added more workers. Small businesses claim people are not spending freely also citing the economy as their top concern followed by rising costs of doing business. Only 10% believe Obamacare would help them while 38% of the respondents said it will hurt them. But 63% still believe America is the best place to invest and open small business with one saying “This country was built for business”. Manta.com is a networking website for entrepreneurs and has 50,000 small business owner members. It partnered with the CNN for the latest survey.

Sarah Hall Ingram, former IRS commissioner on tax-exempt organizations from 2009-20012 and was in charge of the department during the Tea Party targeting, is also the current director of the Obamacare IRS division. In November 2011, during a testimony Ingram introduced herself before Congress as commissioner of tax-exempt organizations as well as “executive lead on the IRS” on small employer tax credit operational planning and implementation and other provisions. Majority of small business owners are Republicans and don’t support Obamacare. Imagine the Obamacare thuggery and other intimidation tactics that’s coming for these small business owners courtesy of the Obamacare IRS division.
Although Ingram was in-charge during the time the IRS was targeting Tea Party and other conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status, her successor Joseph Grant, who was appointed a week ago and already announced his resignation by June 3, is taking the fall for the IRS scandal. For some reason, the White House is making sure blaming the “two rogue low-level employees ” from Ohio office should remain as the “scapegoat script memo” while exonerating the higher officials obviously involved in the IRS targeting scheme.
